Magda Torres

Magda Torres

Magda’s work is guided by a deep respect for the complexity of human life—mental, emotional, social, and ethical. Her lived and professional experience across multiple countries gives her a global perspective and the sensitivity to respond to diverse challenges, from individual well-being to collective transformation.

Her interest in transformational practices was shaped early in life by her experiences growing up in Colombia, where exposure to violence, corruption, and inequality led her to seek practical, evidence-based approaches to well-being and resilience. This journey led her to integrate yoga, mental training, and therapeutic techniques into a holistic yet grounded methodology.

With over 20 years of experience in yoga, Magda has trained in a range of styles including Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Hatha, Iyengar, Yin Yoga, and Therapeutic Yoga, refining her practice under the guidance of renowned teachers. Her approach is further informed by extensive training in Buddhist practices, deeply shaped by her studies with Lama Zopa Rinpoche. This foundation, combined with a secular and science-informed perspective, allows her to teach with clarity, empathy, and a grounded understanding of human complexity.

Magda is certified in SEE Learning and CBCT (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) through Emory University, as well as in 16 Guidelines for Life, a program developed by the Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom. These certifications expand her understanding of key dimensions of human well-being, such as compassion, self-regulation, emotional awareness, and the cultivation of ethical and reflective capacities.

As a certified coach, she employs a trauma-sensitive approach to guide individuals and groups with empathy and effectiveness. She integrates contemporary methods with traditional wisdom to help people strengthen emotional resilience, reclaim agency, and build sustainable well-being in both personal and professional contexts.

Magda’s approach is rooted in integrity, empathy, and a genuine belief in human potential. She fosters collaboration and innovation, creating environments where individuals and organizations can thrive together. Through Wise Lama, she is committed to supporting individual and collective flourishing through evidence-based programs, workshops, and training sessions that provide individuals with practical tools to enhance well-being, foster resilience, and cultivate healthier, more connected communities, schools, institutions, workplaces—and everyday life.
